Got mine in the post today! I had the chance to give it a quick look before I left for the office and I have to say I'm very excited. I don't know if I'll use any of these methods, I'll surely try them out, but I'm so happy to add sources like this in my sewing library.
I'm even considering subscribing to Threads magazine. Would you recomend it? Does any of you buy this magazine?

Hi I found your blog from your profile page on BurdaStyle.com :)!
I posted the same reply (see below) to the question you posted on BurdaStyle.
I have a subscription (this is their website: http://www.threadsmagazine.com/). And you are correct they are not a pattern magazine :)
I've only received 2 or 3 issues so far (I am a relatively new subscriber), a new magazine is published every 2 months (so you'd only get 6 issues per year). I'm only a beginner but I really enjoy their magazine and I've also bought some old copies (back-issues) from eBay - as some issues have a big article on a very interesting topic/subject that I wanted to read about.
If you go to the website you can see online copies of a few of their older articles to see if your like the kind of thing they write about, here are a few examples e.g.:
(1) Making Sense of Pattern Grading,
(2) Bag Your Jacket Lining,
(3) To Get the Right Armhole, Fit the Bodice,
(4) Drape a Skirt Sloper, and
(5) Merits of a Basic Sewing Patterns
Thanks Claire! You're right I should check it out first. So far I've been finding such articles on blogs and sites like threadsmagazine.com, but it's different having all in print, isn't it?
V. true re: printed pages - you should see the size of my sewing library so far LOL!
Wow! I kind of envy you right now, but I'll catch up! lol
