Let's say you need a pin board but your space is limited and you don't want to make holes on the wall... do what I did!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mjNENDR90nU/UPqi1s7FnOI/AAAAAAAACeA/eXMowuOtCOE/s1600/CIMG2983.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mjNENDR90nU/UPqi1s7FnOI/AAAAAAAACeA/eXMowuOtCOE/s400/CIMG2983.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Buy a cheap photo frame and replace the glass with cork! I used the sample picture that comes with the frame to cut 2 pieces of the cork, because it was quite thin. Place it in the frame and done! Probably the fastest project I've made!</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ok I'll be honest with you. I didn't need it as much. I've never used one before, I find other places to put my notes on, but I'm about to start some serious studying and a little space renovating felt good. Plus I really wanted to use those cute push pins! Look at them! Now I have to take a note to pin!</div>
Wish me luck, because I'm going to spend days and days on this desk.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I hope you are all feeling fine, being creative and keep up all the good work! I wish you a Happy and Creative New Year!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have to apologize my dear readers for being away all this time and not even saying goodbye. I'm sorry, it's not like me to disappear without a word. It's only that at first I was hopping I would find time and post about my news, but then too much time went by...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It seems to be kind of common these days. Lots of bloggers seem to have gone extinct in the blog sphere! We all have our reasons I guess.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's good to be back again, but I can't stay. Too many things have happened in my life. I had to take decisions I couldn't avoid any more and it's time to take more care of me. So, although I can't stop creating, even small things to keep me sane, I can't blog right now. I'll try to come back every now and then though. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Thank you all for your support and feel free to contact me at any time.</div>

This is the last of my tutorials about my <a href="http://mariasewing.blogspot.gr/2012/04/double-faced-cape-2-capes.html">double faced cape</a>. Please read the previous ones to have a spherical view on the method I followed and this one will be a piece of cake, I promise!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<a href="http://mariasewing.blogspot.gr/2012/05/how-to-make-buttonholes-on-double-faced.html">How to make buttonholes on double faced wool</a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Let me remind you. This is how double faced wool looks from the side</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-X7hMMskpGJM/UASAUMkLS8I/AAAAAAAACdQ/ZAwsodpGI3M/s1600/CIMG2818.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-X7hMMskpGJM/UASAUMkLS8I/AAAAAAAACdQ/ZAwsodpGI3M/s400/CIMG2818.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I suggest you do the hemming last on your project, no matter what you pattern instructions says, because that's the only way I can think of, to have a neatly finished garment with fully enclosed seams.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
So you already have basted your pattern pieces at double the seam allowance distance</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-l2Mt4FOAZ38/UASAVO5BwnI/AAAAAAAACdY/6ShJxjQjfsg/s1600/CIMG2820.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-l2Mt4FOAZ38/UASAVO5BwnI/AAAAAAAACdY/6ShJxjQjfsg/s400/CIMG2820.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
and you have separated the two fabric layers up to the basting thread, be careful not to go any further.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S5JXX8pD9sc/UASAWulDjDI/AAAAAAAACdg/ZsW98zei1g4/s1600/CIMG2822.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S5JXX8pD9sc/UASAWulDjDI/AAAAAAAACdg/ZsW98zei1g4/s400/CIMG2822.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Now all you have to do is fold inwards both fabrics (grey and red) until their edges meet the basting thread.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Press, using a pressing cloth and cut half width the seam allowance, as you did when you prepared <a href="http://mariasewing.blogspot.gr/2012/05/how-to-sew-basic-seam-with-double-faced.html">a basic seam</a>. You don't have to check the width of the seam allowances, as long as your basting is at double distance the seam allowance your patterns suggests or you chose to use. By folding the edges inwards you are folding the seam allowance.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XilXAIUOjGk/UASAcGeoPNI/AAAAAAAACdo/QaMo7RWDyTk/s1600/CIMG2825.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XilXAIUOjGk/UASAcGeoPNI/AAAAAAAACdo/QaMo7RWDyTk/s400/CIMG2825.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
That was all! Now sew, catching both the grey and red fabric with the needle, creating a smooth edge.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
When reaching a corner try to make a pointy edge (if your pattern calls for one) and cut any excess fabric you have to fold inwards, to avoid bulk.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Qxvixg9hcGs/UASAhylEF7I/AAAAAAAACdw/D788bVeLkOY/s1600/CIMG2827.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Qxvixg9hcGs/UASAhylEF7I/AAAAAAAACdw/D788bVeLkOY/s400/CIMG2827.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Press and run to the mirror to admire your garment on! Told you it was easy!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>

Sometimes there comes a moment when your whole sewing life passes by your eyes. When you see everything you've ever made and piles of fabric for the dresses you never got to sew. Ok let me explain. It's been too long since I last made anything. I miss sewing. I have to many plans, but lately I was too busy and traveled a lot, so sewing was on the hold. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yesterday I decided to start on a new dress. I've had the fabric and lace trim since last year. There's always a lining I can use, appropriate for summer dresses and I did buy a zip last week. So I'm all ready to go! I've cut my fabric, cut my lining, pinned the darts, sewn the darts, pinned the side seams, I' m sewing, sewing, clap... the needle has jammed the fabric in the tiny whole beneath it, between the feed dogs, I can see loops of thread where they shouldn't be. I tried to manually reverse the needle up but nothing is moving. The balance wheel turns alright, but nothing moves, not the feeding dogs, not the needle bar. Deap breath Maria, calm down. I unplug the machine and unjam the fabric, cut the thread loops, open the bobin case part, take the needle completely off, it's broken. So far so good, but still the balance wheel is turning and nothing else moves and I can't find the second half of the broken needle. <br />
Another deep breath. I take the little screw driver, that came with the machine and try to open it and see what I'll find in there. The missing needle part, something broken that gives move from the balance weel to the feed dogs and needle bar?... that damn screw is too tight.<br />
My dad just woke up from his siesta, I give him a few moments and I call for help. He unscrewed that stubborn screw so easily. Why does that always has to happen? He asked me what was going on. I was already thinking that if my machine broke again, I wouldn't take it this time. I would buy a new one. I can't be without a sewing machine, apart from refusing to imagine my self without sewing, look at all the money I've spent on fabric, still unsewn!<br />
I explained to my dad what was wrong. He slowly went to the other room, put this glasses on and took a close look to my machine. Took a screwdriver and tightened a screw, with a weird shape. That was it! It's been flowing like a river ever since! The crisis went over fast! Thanks dad!<br />

Being able to sew for oneself is an absolute pleasure. Being flattered about your talent to sew and make your friends jealous they can't have the awesome blouse you made for your self is even more awesome! What's a better thank you to a friend for all the good words, than a piece of your work? A friend of mine liked my <a href="http://mariasewing.blogspot.gr/2012/04/coffee-blouse.html">Coffee Blouse</a> so much I thought it would be only right to make her one too. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I couldn't find any similar fabric with an interesting print as mine has, so I chose this ombre satin, with shades of yellow and orange. This time I got to cut the front piece on the bias, as the pattern suggested and the results were more spectacular. The fitting and draping are lovely. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is me modelling the blouse before I gave it to my friend.</div>

I was trying to find the right words for this post for days now. I didn't! I'm not thrilled by this issue either. There is only one dress I like and it's the main reason I did buy the issue. I got to like that dress more because I found this ideal fabric for it. I hope I'll have time in the following to sew it. Lately my time has been so limited traveling and taking exams. I have not sewn for at least a month and a half and I have not found time to show you all whan I sew before things got so tight. I'm optimistic about the rest of the summer. I have two more summer dresses to sew. At least two, that's my main goal. I'm also going to make a navy style purse and couple of things for presents. If I meet these goal I'll be very happy and by the end of August I'll start planning for autumn and winter sewing.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So here are this issue's models that might interest you, starting with my favourite one.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="javascript:void window.open('/content/viewer.jsp?imagePath=/images/repos/1/000/001/871/000001871794','gross','width=600,height=450,resizable=yes,scrollbars=no')"><img alt="Modell Photo" border="0" height="395" src="http://www.burdafashion.com/images/repos/1/000/001/871/000001871752" width="224" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I know it probably doesn't look like anything to special, but with the right fabric it can become! It's a vintage pattern, from the 50's, supposed to be a working out garment, accompanied with shorts, but they altered, omitted the shorted and lengthend the hem.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really really like this one too, probably most because of the colour combination...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="javascript:void window.open('/content/viewer.jsp?imagePath=','gross','width=600,height=450,resizable=yes,scrollbars=no')"><img alt="Kleid - Schluppe, Nahttaschen 109 0712 B" height="320" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/thumbs/c/c9/Kleid-Schluppe-Nahttaschen-109-0712-B_400x533-ID266379-31b1ad23f597932cbac4200bf45572a2.jpg" width="240" /></a><img alt="" border="0" height="310" hspace="0" src="http://www.burdafashion.com/images/repos/1/000/001/871/000001871772" width="320" /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
...but I know it wouldn't look good on me. The pattern is boxy and my curvy back would look weird, I would end up adding darts and it would be a totally different dress. I'm keeping the inspiration though.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here's a few vintage looking dresses too. Don't get me wrong, I like the style, I adore anything vintage, but I probably wouldn't sew them. It's nice to have the patterns though.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

I'm very proud of my self, because this is the first time that I've been sewing summer garments ahead of summer! Usually I start sewing the season's look while deep into the season and as you can imagine I'm rushing into things and never meet my goals. So right after finishing my wool cape I picked up this half finished dress from last year. It was left half finished because I started it in late September and since the weather got all chilly I left it half done. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ggPDP8mQlbU/T8DavyhuK2I/AAAAAAAACb4/OVSDgG8P9Go/s1600/CIMG2744_edited.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ggPDP8mQlbU/T8DavyhuK2I/AAAAAAAACb4/OVSDgG8P9Go/s400/CIMG2744_edited.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is made of linen with embroidered hem. I didn't want to mess with the hem so I eliminated the side seams and made them as darts! In order to achieve that, I placed all 3 pattern pieces (one front and two sides) right next to each other and created a continuous hem line. So that way I managed to have only one back seam.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Mfa1uLD92vs/T8DavCP7WzI/AAAAAAAACbw/XQo5f8hZVNQ/s1600/CIMG2743_edited.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Mfa1uLD92vs/T8DavCP7WzI/AAAAAAAACbw/XQo5f8hZVNQ/s400/CIMG2743_edited.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(the back zip is not twisted all the time...bad moment I just found out, sorry)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0mBCI_N6Qkw/T8Daw2dvovI/AAAAAAAACb8/b9XZGEkNKDA/s1600/CIMG2746_edited.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0mBCI_N6Qkw/T8Daw2dvovI/AAAAAAAACb8/b9XZGEkNKDA/s400/CIMG2746_edited.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used the pattern I had used for my <a href="http://mariasewing.blogspot.com/2011/06/i-got-blues.html">blue lace dress</a> last year, lowering the back a little.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I can't understand why, but when I added the lining, a light beige loosely woven cotton, the fitting kind of changed. I don't mind any way, but I'm still wondering why!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I didn't really want to use lining, but I had too, because do these little windows over here. And who cares when I'm standing, but when sitting down... not a good point of view... not at all!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-drs_vnqEs1M/T8Da1pUCo3I/AAAAAAAACcg/rVDbQH6oZic/s1600/CIMG2772.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-drs_vnqEs1M/T8Da1pUCo3I/AAAAAAAACcg/rVDbQH6oZic/s400/CIMG2772.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The embroidered hem of course is that made me buy this fabric. Firstly I thought about making a circle skirt, but then I came to be very fond of this look, a simple dress with a little something.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BvM6yCBAmD0/T8Daz740D7I/AAAAAAAACcY/MR3K20Jp30Q/s1600/CIMG2771_edited.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BvM6yCBAmD0/T8Daz740D7I/AAAAAAAACcY/MR3K20Jp30Q/s400/CIMG2771_edited.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is the back seam. I tried to have the motif continuous, but I didn't have enough fabric and that was my best choice.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tP3HlRGiFcw/T8Da4744kcI/AAAAAAAACc4/Yn6uifaRmVk/s1600/CIMG2775_edited.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tP3HlRGiFcw/T8Da4744kcI/AAAAAAAACc4/Yn6uifaRmVk/s400/CIMG2775_edited.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is the darted side seam.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

The one that caught my eye is this beautiful dress.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Modell Φωτογραφία" height="640" src="http://www.burdafashion.com/images/repos/1/000/001/871/000001871188" width="361" /> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Surprisingly a few more patterns popped in my head, from old Burda issues. Surprisingly because I have the memory of a goldfish! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is pattern 126 for issue 6/2010</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="BM1006 burdasty 2 8-050" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/thumbs/4/ef/BM1006-burdasty-2-8-050_355x533-ID189042-47a97590589609e91870380a8a49cb1c.jpg" /> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Pattern 127 from issue 5/2008</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I remember falling in love with this one...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It has an attached neck scarf.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Modell Φωτογραφία" height="640" src="http://www.burdafashion.com/images/repos/1/000/001/669/000001669577" width="361" /> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
and pattern 121 from issue 3/2009</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Modell Φωτογραφία" height="640" src="http://www.burdafashion.com/images/repos/1/000/001/753/000001753416" width="362" /> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Can you spot the differences? They are slight and they are the king that all of us would make, by using different kinds of fabric, lining and embellishments.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I would prefer sewing any of the old dresses, lucky me I have those back issues, because I would use so much less fabric. They yellow one for example takes 2,50 meters, the pink one 2,20 meters for my size (great issue that one, get it if you don't have it already, you may take a look <a href="http://www.burdafashion.com/ru/index/1270777-1463237-1692417.html">here</a>). But the dress from the current issue requires 7,20 meters!!! Plus you have to have the fabric pleated. I don't know how that works to the rest of the world, but here in Greece, this is a very expensive thing to do (don't get why, but it is). Also if you have wide hips pleating don't always flatter them. Gatherings may be more gentle to your appearance. So I'm sticking with the back issue pattens!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I also consider this pants pattern to be interesting, especially because of it's unique side seams and pockets.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This plus size, cargo style skirt is beautiful.</div>

Now we're making business! This is by far the most difficult part, but if you've tried out the rest, if you've already opened and sewn a seam using my method, you will see that this is based on the same principles, but it takes a bit more of your attention and time. So let's get started.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: large;"><b><i>1. </i></b></span><span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', Trebuchet, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">Use an accurate ruler to determine the diameter of the buttons you selected. </span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-u-z1MOoyLKw/T8DDo4GDKGI/AAAAAAAACaQ/cPcSaOuSKAM/s1600/CIMG2671.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-u-z1MOoyLKw/T8DDo4GDKGI/AAAAAAAACaQ/cPcSaOuSKAM/s400/CIMG2671.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><b><span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;">2. </span></b></i>Mark the buttonhole on your fabric, according to the pattern, taking of course into consideration the button size. I used heat disappearing markers.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Making a sample is always helpful, not only for mastering the method, but also for determining you're using the right measurements for the buttonhole.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This particular buttonhole is 1cm wide, so the middle line stands at exactly 0,5 centimetres. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YcAqrgbKkJA/T8DDhZqC2zI/AAAAAAAACZY/FkBp-7Dm52g/s1600/CIMG2439.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YcAqrgbKkJA/T8DDhZqC2zI/AAAAAAAACZY/FkBp-7Dm52g/s400/CIMG2439.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><i><b>3. </b></i></span>Now you have to cut the buttonhole open. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I found it useful and more safe, using my rotary cutter for cutting the middle section and a pointy pair of scissors for the diagonal lines.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zM3qOuHMcN0/T8DDi4z0mpI/AAAAAAAACZg/acumpn1OmI0/s1600/CIMG2441.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zM3qOuHMcN0/T8DDi4z0mpI/AAAAAAAACZg/acumpn1OmI0/s400/CIMG2441.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-14VONYaUB7Q/T8DDj_INgBI/AAAAAAAACZo/w6kyolVyj4E/s1600/CIMG2443.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-14VONYaUB7Q/T8DDj_INgBI/AAAAAAAACZo/w6kyolVyj4E/s400/CIMG2443.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><i><b>4. </b></i></span>Now's the tricky part. Open the two layers of the fabric using your fingers and carefully cutting the threads that hold them together, following <a href="http://mariasewing.blogspot.com/2012/05/how-to-sew-basic-seam-with-double-faced.html">my first tutorial on seam allowances</a>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Remember that this buttonhole is 1cm wide, so after cutting it, on step 3, I ended up with 0,5 cm edges, on the long sides. That 0,5cm edge will but turned inside, so I have to make sure that I open the two fabric layers at least 0,5cm. But that may lead to bulkyness, so I will open it more, about 1cm or a bit less, because remember that this will be a bound buttonhole and not only the edges will be sewn inside but also the welts.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
It looks a mess right now, doesn't it? Don't worry, it will be pretty in a short while!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JIr9MQkI5s0/T8DDsMpnuyI/AAAAAAAACao/7BxiQGPcbnQ/s1600/CIMG2678.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JIr9MQkI5s0/T8DDsMpnuyI/AAAAAAAACao/7BxiQGPcbnQ/s400/CIMG2678.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-N4o89BjAB2g/T8DDtYPFLSI/AAAAAAAACaw/o1AVA8IkuYE/s1600/CIMG2680.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-N4o89BjAB2g/T8DDtYPFLSI/AAAAAAAACaw/o1AVA8IkuYE/s400/CIMG2680.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OyrS1yydiA0/T8DDmsNYJaI/AAAAAAAACaA/5eIBNDXy1GY/s1600/CIMG2669.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OyrS1yydiA0/T8DDmsNYJaI/AAAAAAAACaA/5eIBNDXy1GY/s400/CIMG2669.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><i><b>5. </b></i></span>Now let's prepare the welts. The welts have to be one piece, but also be red on one side and grey on the other side. At least that's what I wanted. You may have them multicoloured, as in all red on both sides, or one welt grey and one red. What ever you want. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
For my way, cut strips of the fabric and totally separate the two fabric layers, to end up with one grey and one red. For my 4 buttonholes I need 8 welts, which means I need 8 pieces of red and 8 of grey. The welts have to be wider than the actual buttonhole size, wide enough to allow me to sew them into the buttonhole and narrow enough to fit in the opening I made in step 4. Half a centimetre on each side is enough. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Take careful and accurate measurements and cut the welts. Sew the two sides together, one grey one red and interface them. This is the only part of the cape I used, to be more accurate, I could use, interfacing.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Qv2SKGEi7zk/T8DDqLs5mLI/AAAAAAAACaY/js5owmn4LmU/s1600/CIMG2674.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Qv2SKGEi7zk/T8DDqLs5mLI/AAAAAAAACaY/js5owmn4LmU/s400/CIMG2674.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-g-Juc-e9Bjs/T8DDrPtUFbI/AAAAAAAACag/L5YlLcWxJ6Q/s1600/CIMG2676.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-g-Juc-e9Bjs/T8DDrPtUFbI/AAAAAAAACag/L5YlLcWxJ6Q/s400/CIMG2676.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><i><b>6. </b></i></span>Back to the buttonhole now. Use basting thread to baste exactly on the marking. Turn the edges inside and give it a good press. Half a centimetre edge is small enough to give you a hard time while sewing the small welts in, so by predefining the edges of the buttonholes you gain time and patience!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tIY0SHeDN4g/T8DDuvlvU8I/AAAAAAAACa4/tH9xx463cM8/s1600/CIMG2681.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tIY0SHeDN4g/T8DDuvlvU8I/AAAAAAAACa4/tH9xx463cM8/s400/CIMG2681.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4e0fkK_5X5Q/T8DDwJ5ZQCI/AAAAAAAACbA/Mxg9df2FGrU/s1600/CIMG2682.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4e0fkK_5X5Q/T8DDwJ5ZQCI/AAAAAAAACbA/Mxg9df2FGrU/s400/CIMG2682.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><b><i>7. </i></b></span>We are very close to the end! Take the first welt, place it in the buttonhole, making sure the the free edge is 0,5cm. You may find it hand making a marking on the welt at exactly 0,5cm to align it with the buttonhole long edge. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Now it's time to start sewing. Catch the folded buttonhole edge and the welt. Be very careful at the corners. They have to be pointy to look pretty and they have to be strong, to last the longest while using them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wUShVq5fI1Y/T8DDxA2hmFI/AAAAAAAACbI/q4PCEof2iPE/s1600/CIMG2683.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wUShVq5fI1Y/T8DDxA2hmFI/AAAAAAAACbI/q4PCEof2iPE/s400/CIMG2683.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sew one side and then move to the other side of the fabric. Every welt has to be sewn from both sides of the garment. Use different thread and needle and have it resting there, while sewing the other side. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9YWXKXZWdMM/T8DDybRbldI/AAAAAAAACbQ/IsD-C-R3dOk/s1600/CIMG2684.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9YWXKXZWdMM/T8DDybRbldI/AAAAAAAACbQ/IsD-C-R3dOk/s400/CIMG2684.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><b><i>8. </i></b></span>Repeat for the opposite welt. Give the buttonhole a good press, with a pressing cloth and you're done!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Don't forget to sew the buttons back to back. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<span style="color: #e06666;"><i><b>Next :</b></i></span> How to hem with double faced wool</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>Mariahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05353168680765436637noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-426658576761261007.post-31245831497039759892012-05-26T14:41:00.001+03:002012-05-26T14:41:12.142+03:00How to make buttonholes on double faced wool<div style="text-align: justify;">
I came up with two ways of making buttonholes for my double faced wool cape. Of course you can use the usual one and make them by your sewing machine, but I really didn't like the idea, of just cutting the buttonhole. I thought the cape would end up looking up cheap and I guess by now you know all the amount of work, time and personal effort I invested in this project. I'm only showing you this simple method because I'm sure you can master it better than I did!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><b><i>1.</i></b></span> First of all mark the buttonhole places on your fabric, according to the pattern. You may use thread or a non permanent marker. I'm using heat disappearing markers. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><b><i>2. </i></b></span>Use an accurate ruler to determine the diameter of the buttons you selected. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><i><b>Tip : </b></i></span>make sure that the buttons you will use are the same size for both sides, because they will be using the same button holes!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MbP7UtBcZ1k/T8C7q5jl9qI/AAAAAAAACYQ/Fo_bmVRICfg/s1600/CIMG2431.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MbP7UtBcZ1k/T8C7q5jl9qI/AAAAAAAACYQ/Fo_bmVRICfg/s400/CIMG2431.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4_DjZp9jCcs/T8C7stkTDiI/AAAAAAAACYY/QyGuVemPKaw/s1600/CIMG2432.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4_DjZp9jCcs/T8C7stkTDiI/AAAAAAAACYY/QyGuVemPKaw/s400/CIMG2432.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><i><b>3. </b></i></span>Use that measurement to shorten or lengthen the buttonhole marking on your fabric. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
It's useful to always make a sample of the buttonhole on scrap fabric. Sometimes the buttonhole will have the exact length of the button, sometimes it will be a couple of millimetres smaller, if the fabric is too soft or loosely woven or a couple of millimetres wider. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QmKR6gtsXAQ/T8C7t_p3N6I/AAAAAAAACYg/P_OC_uEeUz0/s1600/CIMG2433.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QmKR6gtsXAQ/T8C7t_p3N6I/AAAAAAAACYg/P_OC_uEeUz0/s400/CIMG2433.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><i><b>4. </b></i></span>Now slash open the buttonhole right at the marking.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
As you've been doing all along, <a href="http://mariasewing.blogspot.com/2012/05/how-to-sew-basic-seam-with-double-faced.html">following these tutorials,</a> open the two layer of the double faced wool, carefully with your fingers and cutting the joining threads. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
You don't have to go deep, <a href="http://mariasewing.blogspot.com/2012/05/how-to-sew-basic-seam-with-double-faced.html">as you previously did for seam allowance</a>s. Half a centimetre is enough.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CN41i2oK3xw/T8C7wMAwfSI/AAAAAAAACYw/tIzEVTfD_J8/s1600/CIMG2435.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CN41i2oK3xw/T8C7wMAwfSI/AAAAAAAACYw/tIzEVTfD_J8/s400/CIMG2435.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wV1dynRATqE/T8C7u7_BKGI/AAAAAAAACYo/P264ZSz6L8Q/s1600/CIMG2434.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wV1dynRATqE/T8C7u7_BKGI/AAAAAAAACYo/P264ZSz6L8Q/s400/CIMG2434.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><b><i>5. </i></b></span>Start sewing going round and round, while turning a bit of the edge in. The ideal will be a couple of millimetres, but to be honest with you I found it difficult. Maybe because I was making a sample and I knew I had the bound buttonholes idea to test too. Maybe it was my fabric. Try it out and it could work for you.</div>

Hello all! Sorry I have not been around much. I still owe you two more tutorials on my double faced cape and I will post them soon, I promise! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have happy news! <a href="http://mariasewing.blogspot.com/2012/04/sleeves-up-for-classes.html">Remember the discount on craftsy classes I told you about the other day</a>?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's back? Yupi!!! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I had totally regretted not signing up for the Bombshell dress back then, mostly because Gertie will show boning too, but I just did!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<img height="225" id="il_fi" src="http://static-sympoz.s3.amazonaws.com/course/29/titleCard.jpg" style="padding-bottom: 8px; padding-right: 8px; padding-top: 8px;" width="400" /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you can't hold your self on the chair right now, if you can't wait to put your fingers on new classes and suck all the knowledge, just click <a href="http://www.craftsy.com/classes/sewing">here</a>!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The discount is huge. Is class is 15 dollars or 11 euros. Pretty good right?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So go ahead take a look, I'm sure you'll find something interesting.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As for the classes I had already signed in, as I suspected I still haven't got the time to take a good look on all of them.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've watched and kept notes on half The Couture Dress, by Susan Khalje. I love it! It's so straight forward having everything at your finger tip whenever you seek for it. Susan also answers every question you have about anything she says during the video tutorials. It's like I've sneaked in her studio, while she is sewing and talking to her self I guess! Haha. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

Now I'm going to show you how I made the shoulder darts on my double faced wool cape. In order to understand this tutorial you may have to read my previous one, <a href="http://mariasewing.blogspot.com/2012/05/how-to-sew-basic-seam-with-double-faced.html">on how to make a basic seam with double faced wool</a>.</div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><i><span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;">1. </span></i></b>So here's how the dart is marked on my pattern piece.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You can see my bright yellow basting stitch, 3cm from the edge and the dart</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
marked on the fabric with heat disappearing marker.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The space between the dart markings is going to fold inwards, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
so using the directions on my <a href="http://mariasewing.blogspot.com/2012/05/how-to-sew-basic-seam-with-double-faced.html">previous tutorial</a>,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
machine baste, parallel to the dart, half distance the space between the top of the dart.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So if the top of the dart is 2cm, baste at 1cm parallel the dart.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JktW-sec_zA/T6BXSWcXkPI/AAAAAAAACXY/TZXCcc8w_rQ/s1600/CIMG2407.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JktW-sec_zA/T6BXSWcXkPI/AAAAAAAACXY/TZXCcc8w_rQ/s400/CIMG2407.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><i><span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;">2.</span></i></b> Cut right in the middle of the dart, stopping a couple of cm before it's point.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-T_5nB38porE/T6BXT_xwQNI/AAAAAAAACXg/xlJGLhXCH1M/s1600/CIMG2411.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-T_5nB38porE/T6BXT_xwQNI/AAAAAAAACXg/xlJGLhXCH1M/s400/CIMG2411.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><b><i>3. </i></b></span>Open the cut edges stopping at the basting stitch.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Don't get passed the basting stitch. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You will reach a point where you won't be able to open.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Just reach as deep as you can with your threads cutter.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-r9emmvSlWzs/T6BXUvDUVEI/AAAAAAAACXk/YEivU5hzTXE/s1600/CIMG2412.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-r9emmvSlWzs/T6BXUvDUVEI/AAAAAAAACXk/YEivU5hzTXE/s400/CIMG2412.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><b><i>4. </i></b></span>Fold the edges inwards and finger press.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I avoided stream pressing because my markings would disappear, </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
since I used a heat sensitive marker.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now start to sew the dart closed.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Use drawstitch for the cut part and catch with your needle the marked edges all the way to the point.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Repeat the same process for the other side too.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qa-PTj_A57g/T6BXVsJ8nQI/AAAAAAAACXw/JJpW9-fPkZI/s1600/CIMG2415.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qa-PTj_A57g/T6BXVsJ8nQI/AAAAAAAACXw/JJpW9-fPkZI/s400/CIMG2415.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I know it doesn't look very good now, but after it's pressed</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c5EWoFxmVp4/T6BXX1f9VnI/AAAAAAAACYA/VV8fiBDwsfw/s1600/CIMG2417.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c5EWoFxmVp4/T6BXX1f9VnI/AAAAAAAACYA/VV8fiBDwsfw/s400/CIMG2417.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You can barely see there's a dart on the grey side.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Unfortunately the red one shows more, but still it's very unnoticeable.</div>

Well I'm officially disappointed and I'm seriously considering to not buy this issue. Burda can get me up to the skies and have me dreaming of outfits all day long, or look at the models and think "what on earth...". Maybe it's the fabrics, the prints, the colours, I don't know but I don't think I would bother making these ones. Let me show you the few highlights I found.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="116B 0612 B" height="400" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/thumbs/a/34/116B-0612-B_400x533-ID263921-80619fbe665099455267ecda51cec37a.jpg" width="300" /></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That's it! An interesting dress, mostly because of the texture, a unique jacket, a basic dress and pants that I bet I can find in back issues and a really pretty dress, but if I can see correctly, you would have to use a pleated fabric (never found one of these) or have it pleated, which cost awfully a lot. I remember a similar dress a few years ago, I'll find it for you.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'll wait for the full preview and the techniqual drawings, which offen reveal an interesting pattern, before I make my verdict. Now they seem to me shapeless, weird, you know the kind that makes you rise your eyebrow! If you like check the rest of the preview <a href="http://www.burdastyle.de/aktuelles/news/burda-style-06-2012-alle-modelle-aus-heft-6_aid_4225.html">here</a>.</div>

As promised I'm going to explain to you, how I made my double faced wool cape. I'm going to show you my way of making a basic seam, a dart, bound buttonholes and how to hem with this special fabric. Since the garment is going to be double faced, both sides have to look polished. So every seam has to be concealed and as unnoticeable as possible. </div>
<div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is how a double faced wool looks from the side.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hejbFLTlaWo/T6BMutKLkeI/AAAAAAAACW4/d1JCU-kJwTE/s1600/CIMG2818.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hejbFLTlaWo/T6BMutKLkeI/AAAAAAAACW4/d1JCU-kJwTE/s400/CIMG2818.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
It looks like two fabrics are attached to one another, and the truth is that they are! They hold to each other and therefore feel like one piece, because they are anchored together with thread. You'll see what I mean in a while. First we need to prepare our seams.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So here's what you have to do.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i><b><span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;">1.</span></b></i> Cut out all your pattern pieces, as your patterns says and </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
as you would normaly do,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
using the seam allowance it suggests.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;">2. </span></b>Now double the seam allowance, in your head, don't touch the pattern!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My pattern called for 1,5 cm, so that makes 3cm.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><b><i>3.</i></b></span> Machine baste, with a contrasting colour thread around all pattern pieces.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My machine does not have grooves for more than 2cm, so I marked the 3cm point with adhesive tape.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7vFfiOTtjwY/T6BMtpbawJI/AAAAAAAACWw/ckA02v8f-jw/s1600/CIMG2454.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7vFfiOTtjwY/T6BMtpbawJI/AAAAAAAACWw/ckA02v8f-jw/s400/CIMG2454.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Let me get this straight for you. The final garment will have a 1,5 cm seam allowance. We are only doubling it to use it as a guide. See the grey and red wool are held together and I had to separate them. In order to keep a straight line I needed reference.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After you baste all the edges, it looks like this.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
[this was the sample, so the line is not perfect straight]</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z1Gw1YRrP_I/T6BMwAY5WRI/AAAAAAAACXA/sNQ7-7SJ1iM/s1600/CIMG2820.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z1Gw1YRrP_I/T6BMwAY5WRI/AAAAAAAACXA/sNQ7-7SJ1iM/s400/CIMG2820.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Half of it is seam allowance. The other half, that lies between the seam allowance and the basting thread, is only there because the seam allowance will fold inwards. Got it?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><i><span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;">4.</span></i></b> Now take your thread cutter and carefully, using your fingers, open the edge of the fabric.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Don't stretch the fabric. We want it to keep it's shape. So use the tread cutter to cut the thread that holds them together. Open all the way to the basting thread. The basting thread is your limit. That's how far you can go. Ok?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YpshIKzE-qQ/T6BMxQUadJI/AAAAAAAACXI/Ass8C7WvWTU/s1600/CIMG2822.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YpshIKzE-qQ/T6BMxQUadJI/AAAAAAAACXI/Ass8C7WvWTU/s400/CIMG2822.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After you've done this for all the pattern pieces you are ready to begin sewing!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It takes time, but it's worth it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><b><i>5. </i></b></span>We are going to machine stitch the red side and hand sew the grey side.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
While I was making my sample I noticed that hand sewing didn't look as good on red.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So red would be machine stitched!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Align the pattern pieces, as the pattern calls and pin them together.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Be careful to pin only the red seam allowances.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You may have to pin down the grey ones, to avoid sewing over them too.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<b><i><span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;">10.</span></i></b> Sew them by hand.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Tada! You made a double faced seam!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After all the seams are finished you can unpick the basting thread and </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
give the seam a good press, with a pressing cloth.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
As for the kind of stitch I used for hand sewing, I used a drawstitch. This is how Claire Shaeffer calls it. To be honest I found out this is a "known" stitch, after I tested different versions of my own imagination and decided this looked best. As you can see in the pics above, you catch a small area of the fabric, right on the folded edge, moving from right to left (I'm right handed) and then you do the same for the opposite side. I tried to kind of cross my stitches, so that the beginning of the one on the bottom side would be in the middle of the stitch on the upper side. Did that make sense?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I also waxed the thread, to make it stronger.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<img alt="M5913" src="http://mccallpattern.mccall.com/filebin/images/product_images/Full/M5913.jpg" />
<br />
<br />
and this is the technical view<br />
<br />
<img alt="Line Art" height="230" src="http://mccallpattern.mccall.com/newsletters/img.sewingtoday.com/cat/40000/add_img/M5913.gif" width="400" /><br />
<br />
I made view C.<br />
You can see why I chose this one. There only a few seams.<br />
I also eliminated the centre back seam, to cut down the work a little bit.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hCCOf6SlGlk/T5wmnm0HYsI/AAAAAAAACVI/v2QAXHuESsE/s1600/CIMG2792_edited.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hCCOf6SlGlk/T5wmnm0HYsI/AAAAAAAACVI/v2QAXHuESsE/s640/CIMG2792_edited.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As lovely as that red is, it won't come out right on the pictures. I hope you get the idea though.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I bought the buttons before I started sewing the cape and I hadn't really decided if I would use red on red, but when I finished, I knew I had to sew red on grey and vice versa.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><i><span style="color: #ea9999; font-size: large;">Tip!</span></i></b> If you decide to make a double faced garment, make sure to pick buttons of the same size for both sides!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And this is how they are sewn.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As you can see, I made bound button holes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had never made them before, either by machine or hand.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
They are not hard to make, but they do take time and your full attention.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is how they look on red</div>

I came across this gorgeous fabric about a year and a half ago. I bought a couple of meters of it, not having a clue what to do with it! This was the first time I saw double faced wool in two different colours. One side red, one side grey. I loved both colours and I had to make something using both of them. Double faced means that the garment has to look perfect on both sides. This may be easier if you use two fabrics, but how do you do it with one? I searched and searched on books and the web, but I was not able to find any instructions or suggestions. So I came up with my own!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I had to conceal each and every seam. That means that more than half of the garment is sewn by hand... so the less seams the better! I came across this pattern <a href="http://mccallpattern.mccall.com/m5913-products-10395.php?page_id=994">by McCall's </a>and I though it would be perfect. Only a few seams and a preview in red to get the full idea!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="M5913" height="320" src="http://mccallpattern.mccall.com/filebin/images/product_images/First_Full/M5913.jpg" width="302" />
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I usually don't like capes, but the belt in this one makes all the difference. I ordered the pattern and after a few months Burda had some cape patterns too, but I chose to stick to this one. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now I'm the pride owner of two capes, a grey and a red one! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Each side gives a hint of what's hidden to the other side, so I used grey buttons on red and red on grey to exaggerate the look. I like so much that the other side shows when I move my arms. </div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I fitted my right out the envelope. I didn't bother making a muslin, because a cape it's meant to be loose, so I didn't expect any fitting issues.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
This project took me a lot of time to complete. Firstly I had to interrupt it, to start working on my graduation dress, which I'll post soon. Then I needed something easier that didn't involve hand sewing and mean while life was taking over my sewing, so after a few months, here it is! Thankfully spring weather was kind enough to allow a couple of cold days and give me the chance to wear it! It feels lovely. The wool is so warm. I only felt cold to my arms, elbow down, but I won't consider this a con. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
This project could also be called, how to make a really simple pattern the most difficult project ever!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Details really mattered here. So slow and precise hand sewing was in order. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://mariasewing.blogspot.com/2012/04/double-faced-cape-details.html">Tomorrow I'll show you all the details</a> and I think I'll post a couple of tutorials too, on how to work with such a double faced fabric.</div>

Hello everybody! I hope you had a great Easter. You know according to the tradition poppies get their red colour on the days of Easter to symbolise the blood of Jesus. So I guess this was the right time to sew a poppies print fabric! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I got this satin silk as a remnant. It was in a basket marked as "silk for scarves". It was quite cheap so I thought I could squeeze a top out of it. I'm glad I got it because I could really get a top from it. It was enough for almost all of it! I run out for half of the facings, but I used white silk to make them and since I'm the only one knowing it's there, it worked just fine!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-09Y4QEDsExo/T5SAoG63ZjI/AAAAAAAACQ0/6Xv1CzbALQM/s1600/CIMG2717_edited.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-09Y4QEDsExo/T5SAoG63ZjI/AAAAAAAACQ0/6Xv1CzbALQM/s320/CIMG2717_edited.JPG" width="270" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used pattern 5<a href="http://mccallpattern.mccall.com/m5661-products-8656.php?page_id=528">661 from McCall's</a>, view D.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I know the gathers don't really show on a print, but the do add an interesting flare to the fitting.</div>

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oAVa7oRGXjA/T5SAo0c5bDI/AAAAAAAACQ4/y1Q5AtNQ2hE/s1600/CIMG2722_edited.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oAVa7oRGXjA/T5SAo0c5bDI/AAAAAAAACQ4/y1Q5AtNQ2hE/s320/CIMG2722_edited.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I didn't make a muslin and I'm glad it fits me right out the envelope.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I probably should have made one, for practice reasons, since this a perfect fit pattern,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
that has extra instructions on how to make all the fitting adjustments.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm usually lucky with tops and I really needed something "quick" to sew, for emotional reasons!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love the way it fits. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It's loose, yet waist defined. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You know how much I love a defined waist on garments.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was also really happy to find these cute transparent buttons in my stash.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Yey for having a stash!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm telling you people, don't ever through away any kind of garment or accessory, without</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
firstly taking off what ever may be used again.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's the gathering and you can also peak at the white facing.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I admit it took me a while to get how to make those gatherings.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Not because the pattern is any difficult, but because I just couldn't get it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Happens to the best of us I guess!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used bias tape to finish the raw edges of the back facing, that carries the buttons and buttonholes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Red would probably be more appropriate, but the partial white facing gave me an excuse for it! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Back facing.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had enough fabric for the long part of the back facing but not all of it!</div>

So I'm looking through the preview and I'm thinking "OK I'm not going to buy this issue" and then "damn now I have to buy it!". At first I didn't see any patterns worth making, according to my style and taste of course, but then I changed my mind. Here's what caught my eye... </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Skirts and dresses, dresses and skirts! I know 5 patterns is a good reason to buy a magazine, but I wish there was more variety in the rest of the patterns.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here's what I mean.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Apart from the above there are a few more patterns a bit more interesting.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Simple but basic for beach or vacations</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<img alt="120 0512 B" height="320" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/thumbs/a/7a/120-0512-B_400x533-ID262295-4a81f507b105a3afb97ff5cf675c30c5.jpg" width="240" /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<img alt="115 0512 B" height="320" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/thumbs/8/30/115-0512-B_400x533-ID262290-ba7c3b65d8760af0ab7c973c2f0f6ffe.jpg" width="240" /><img alt="114 0512 B" height="320" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/thumbs/9/ba/114-0512-B_400x533-ID262286-bb41aab6a9685b5777b461d0f0c73e99.jpg" width="240" /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I don't like the elastic waist on the pink dress, but it's good for inspiration.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<img alt="138 0512 B" height="320" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/thumbs/d/0e/138-0512-B_400x533-ID262270-361e68b0dd6cc8174315a10165f0a840.jpg" width="240" /><img alt="141 0512 B" height="320" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/thumbs/c/59/141-0512-B_400x533-ID262273-82a40750c202d2e26b9948d267a1e74e.jpg" width="240" /></div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bzeSw_Nak2o/T4CIc0vmpUI/AAAAAAAACN0/aKIXpDTK6z8/s1600/%CF%87%CF%89%CF%81%CE%AF%CF%82+%CF%84%CE%AF%CF%84%CE%BB%CE%BF.bmp" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="416" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bzeSw_Nak2o/T4CIc0vmpUI/AAAAAAAACN0/aKIXpDTK6z8/s640/%CF%87%CF%89%CF%81%CE%AF%CF%82+%CF%84%CE%AF%CF%84%CE%BB%CE%BF.bmp" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
I almost forgot about it, until today.<br />
<br />
That site, <a href="http://www.craftsy.com/">www.craftsy.com</a> has a ton of online classed to choose from. Really interesting ones too.<br />
Right now I'm interested in construction and couture methods.<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Of course I went for <a href="http://www.craftsy.com/class/Jean-ius-Reverse-Engineer-Your-Favorite-Fit/60">Jean-ious</a>. It's a class with Kenneth D. King and that was enough to convince me! I was gifted his book "Cool Couture" a couple of years ago and I just loved his style, his forward directions and simplified methods. As the class description says "<i>I'll show you how to make your jeans into a blueprint. Don't worry: we won't
be taking them apart or harming them in any way. I'll show you my ingenious
method to create a pattern that lets you make pair after pair of fun, flattering
trousers in any fabric, from casual to dressy, for women or men. I'll also teach
you construction tips picked up in years of couture sewing from New York to San
Francisco - things that make details you thought were hard a total breeze. I'm
talking about shaping pockets, shortening zippers, sewing the crotch seam, and
creating a perfectly tailored waistband</i>."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<img height="225" src="http://static-sympoz.s3.amazonaws.com/course/60/titleCard.jpg" width="400" />
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I also enrolled for Gretsen's class <a href="http://www.craftsy.com/class/Sew-Retro-The-Starlet-Suit-Jacket/56">The Starlet Suit Jacket</a>. That particular jacket is not really my style, but I can't wait to learn all about her methods. The pattern of course included as a print. The description says "<i>I designed the included suit pattern exclusively for Craftsy - a flattering
cut with princess seams and a flared waist, in sizes 0 to 24. As we cut and sew
the jacket, I'll show you different construction methods, depending on your
level of sewing expertise. If you're up for a challenge, you'll learn how to
construct a pad-stitched collar and lapel, welt pockets and bound buttonholes.
If you don't have time for couture techniques, I show you how to achieve great
results with fusible interfacing and machine buttonholes. Either way, you'll
finish with a stunning outfit you can dress up or down, and you're guaranteed
never to run into yourself on Fifth Avenue or anywhere else</i>."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<img height="225" src="http://static-sympoz.s3.amazonaws.com/course/56/titleCard.jpg" width="400" />
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And last but not least, I enrolled to <a href="http://www.craftsy.com/class/The-Couture-Dress/53">The Couture Dress</a>. I was thrilled to find out that the pattern Susan uses for the class will be shipped to me for free! And it will be shipped to me, even though I don't live in the US! That's amazing, cause so many companies, of any kind of services, only ship to US or Canada. I really don't get the reason, but anyway... The description says "<i>From constructing your muslin to adjusting fit, underlining to hand-picked
zippers and perfect hems, Susan will guide you step-by-step. Once you learn
these essential couture techniques, you will have the skills to adapt the
included Vogue pattern to create whatever dress you need - a swingy summer
sleeveless, a classic winter-weight sheath with three-quarter sleeves or an
elegant cocktail dress in seasonless black lace.</i>"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<img height="130" src="http://static-sympoz.s3.amazonaws.com/course/53/promo.png" width="400" />
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<img src="http://www.chance-of-rain.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/VogueEasyOptionMissDress.jpg" />
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I honestly don't know where I'll find the time to watch all those videos, but I'm so glad I enrolled to all of them. The price was so hard to resist to. Their original price was 79.99$ each and as much as I would have liked to, I wouldn't pay that amount. </div>
So sleeves to work, time to learn!<br />

I still have not found time to ding into knitting. So my needles rest a lot, and that's exactly why they needed a case to live in! Actually that and the fact that I desperately want things to be organised and in order!</div>
I searched the web for some inspiration and that's what I ended up with.<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I sew the middle part, which has 11 pockets and is really bulky, with satin stitch.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It was the only way I could think of and this was the first time I used satin stitch!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I even made my own stitch markers, with what ever spare parts I had.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I know they look weird, but they will do what they are supposed to!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So now my needles can sleep tight and I can go out for drinks!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-g36hdVY87ew/T2pTbRB6JmI/AAAAAAAACLc/IzYsiDN7D2o/s1600/CIMG2614.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-g36hdVY87ew/T2pTbRB6JmI/AAAAAAAACLc/IzYsiDN7D2o/s320/CIMG2614.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I got it from Zara a few weeks ago.<br />
I just loves it's shape and colour combination, which matches almost any outfit and is suitable for both winter and summer.<br />
The only default is that it's only closure is this magnetic snap.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pOhItBfwiiI/T2pTiHwFFHI/AAAAAAAACLk/CHCGXpsoHMs/s1600/CIMG2616.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pOhItBfwiiI/T2pTiHwFFHI/AAAAAAAACLk/CHCGXpsoHMs/s320/CIMG2616.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
This is not enough to keep my things safe, either from stealing or from ending up on the middle of the street, should I drop the purse! I have to think of any possible scenario! Anyway I have a thing with purses and closures. I need them to close neatly to feel secure.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So here's what I made to solve this problem... because not buying the bag was not an option!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kuUY65ze_M4/T2pTMClo-BI/AAAAAAAACLM/RPvTVHSG-t0/s1600/CIMG2607.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kuUY65ze_M4/T2pTMClo-BI/AAAAAAAACLM/RPvTVHSG-t0/s320/CIMG2607.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div>
<b><i><span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;">1.</span></i></b> This is pretty easy. Measure the opening of the purse and divide the width by 2.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So for example my purse is 36 X 9. The opening I will make has to be 36 cm at length and 9 cm width. It will be split in two by a zip, so 9/2 = 4.5 cm. Right?</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><b><i>2. </i></b></span>Now cut 2 pieces of fabric, matching the colour of the purse lining or purse it's self. Each one should measure 36cm length and 9cm width, because it will be folded in two. Add seam allowances. Mine is just one cm.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><i>3. </i></span></b>Sew each fabric piece on the zip, folded in half and enclosing the raw edges in the pieces. This would be easier if you press the seam allowances in. It doesn't have to be perfect. No one will see it, but you.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><b><span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;">4.</span></b></i> Now all that's left to do is sew your closure to the purse.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This can only be done by hand. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Determine a straight line in the purse lining. There may already be some kind of line to follow, if not just draw one with tailors chalk.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here's how mine looks from the inside and outside.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jK7bEQQ1rUM/T2pTuSLoFDI/AAAAAAAACLs/slBcbwd2pgk/s1600/CIMG2621.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jK7bEQQ1rUM/T2pTuSLoFDI/AAAAAAAACLs/slBcbwd2pgk/s320/CIMG2621.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ERkQaSLGikg/T2pT7kLFv_I/AAAAAAAACL0/bRTJPezeVu0/s1600/CIMG2622.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ERkQaSLGikg/T2pT7kLFv_I/AAAAAAAACL0/bRTJPezeVu0/s320/CIMG2622.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Unfortunately I forgot to divide and my closure and it ended up having double the width it should have... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Pfa3dk7zbCc/T2pUY70p-VI/AAAAAAAACMM/QWLeVq4_-QM/s1600/CIMG2627.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Pfa3dk7zbCc/T2pUY70p-VI/AAAAAAAACMM/QWLeVq4_-QM/s320/CIMG2627.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Even so, I don't mind, because I can use that extra space it creates to place a bottle of water!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KsBcN3bCsX4/T2mJ_OzcKzI/AAAAAAAACLE/CkuAEBEaNPI/s1600/%CF%87%CF%89%CF%81%CE%AF%CF%82+%CF%84%CE%AF%CF%84%CE%BB%CE%BF.bmp" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="309" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KsBcN3bCsX4/T2mJ_OzcKzI/AAAAAAAACLE/CkuAEBEaNPI/s320/%CF%87%CF%89%CF%81%CE%AF%CF%82+%CF%84%CE%AF%CF%84%CE%BB%CE%BF.bmp" width="320" /></a></div>
Isn't it lovely?<br />
Of course Cynthia Rowley. Oh I love her perspective.<br />
Light, summery, flowy, classy but shashy at the same moment. Would look great with a cropped jacket or cardigan. For a simple walk, but also for work and why not a special occasion. The right fabric will get the best out of this pattern.<br />
I mostly like the sleeveless version the model is wearing. <br />
Look at the contrasting lines. Back and front has the same shape.<br />
Combination of curves and geometric shapes.<br />
Lovely, just lovely.<br />
I'm going to spent the rest of the day daydreaming about it!<br />
<br />

I'm not really sure what to say about this issue. There are a couple of patterns that will make me buy it, but apart from those, it's really food for thought. I don't like looking or dressing like everyone else does and this month there are some really interesting patterns to give you a unique look. Let' see. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So very 60's.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Not my first choice, but I do have fabric I could use ...and if I do get that six pack until summer (!) it will be a great choice for an elegant appearance after the beach, don't you think? As you can see the design is very very easy and depending on the fabric of course, you can wear it as a bolero, over your shirt.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<img alt="126B 0412 B" height="320" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/thumbs/4/4a/126B-0412-B_400x533-ID260821-750943f11420b09bc2fd51193eabc106.jpg" width="240" /><img alt="126-042012-M" height="274" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/feb5d1ed-5d61-78a3-6e8e-878815ea25dd.png" style="margin-top: 105px;" width="320" /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The classic pencil skirt!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So classic, so classy! It doesn't flatter every figure though. You may adjust it to fit you of course. Lower the waist or expand the hem, I know it won't be pencil then, but straight, but you will get the effect! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<img alt="118B 0412 B" height="320" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/thumbs/5/1d/118B-0412-B_400x533-ID260807-019fa02a3cf280d13cffeb5fe81a9b73.jpg" width="240" /><a href="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/41985c52-1848-8bc1-62ea-88507cd44238.png" imageanchor="1" style="cssfloat: undefined;"><img alt="118-042012-M" border="0" height="157" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/41985c52-1848-8bc1-62ea-88507cd44238.png" style="margin-top: 188px;" width="203" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Nice accessory idea, you can make with almost any material</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<img alt="127 0412 B" height="150" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/thumbs/1/ec/127-0412-B_400x300-ID260823-3ac6d13a58ec5ed22254d02d498451fd.jpg" style="margin-top: 116px;" width="200" /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another great dress. By now you would know I have a thing about dresses and lace. So this one is the perfect combination! Actually you don't need a pattern to do this. I mean you can replace fabric pattern pieces with lace in any design, as long as it makes sence to you! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<img alt="103B 0412 B" height="320" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/thumbs/9/7a/103B-0412-B_400x533-ID260786-0843cff6115cc5f567f8104a678af914.jpg" width="240" /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I would wear this if I was to dance tango again! Fire!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It looks it's cut on the bias. So bring on those curves!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Interesting darts in front.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<img alt="128A 0412 B" height="320" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/thumbs/1/d8/128A-0412-B_400x533-ID260824-b789e37eecc992620b2d4aa8ff11663c.jpg" width="240" /><img alt="128-042012-M" height="267" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/458a9e7f-e250-cbd2-87e6-e30e82ce718f.png" style="margin-top: 133px;" width="205" /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ι looove this one! I'm curious how you do that think on the sleeve head...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Maybe this could be the cropped jacket - bolero style that actually fits good on me.</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<img alt="124 0412 B" height="320" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/thumbs/c/ee/124-0412-B_400x533-ID260817-bb9100c415583b55e5256bb7b5391fec.jpg" width="240" /><img border="0" height="320" src="http://www.burdafashion.com/images/repos/1/000/001/868/000001868912" width="240" /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/31d9d958-138f-4ad2-652f-489bf7939c25.png" imageanchor="1" style="cssfloat: undefined;"><img alt="124-042012-M" border="0" height="145" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/31d9d958-138f-4ad2-652f-489bf7939c25.png" style="margin-top: 194px;" width="311" /></a></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
Did you miss these? I didn't! Ha ha! Well, the more I see them in fashion magazines the more I'm thinking about making one. Last summer I tried on a couple and I looked ridiculous...like many of those girls I see on the street wearing them! Sorry... But, if I was to make one, I would make it to flatter me and look good on me, as I know my bodytype. Anyway you know I probably won't, because my list of projects to be made is too long, and this is right at the bottom of it!</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
Notice the balloon hem.</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="http://www.burdafashion.com/images/repos/1/000/001/868/000001868910" width="240" /><img alt="" border="0" height="320" hspace="0" src="http://www.burdafashion.com/images/repos/1/000/001/869/000001869184" width="116" /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
This is my second favorite pattern of this issue. I'll show you my first in a while.</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
I absolutely love it. Simple with a touch!</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="http://www.burdafashion.com/images/repos/1/000/001/868/000001868915" width="240" /><img alt="" border="0" height="320" hspace="0" src="http://www.burdafashion.com/images/repos/1/000/001/869/000001869189" width="260" /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="http://www.burdafashion.com/images/repos/1/000/001/868/000001868933" width="240" /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
What do you think about this?</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
Interesting right? Drapped and flowing. Kind like ancient greek. </div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="http://www.burdafashion.com/images/repos/1/000/001/869/000001869162" width="161" /><img alt="" border="0" height="320" hspace="0" src="http://www.burdafashion.com/images/repos/1/000/001/869/000001869230" width="129" /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
This one could be considered as it's plus size version... almost!</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="http://www.burdafashion.com/images/repos/1/000/001/868/000001868944" width="240" /><img alt="" border="0" height="320" hspace="0" src="http://www.burdafashion.com/images/repos/1/000/001/869/000001869218" width="208" /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
Now this is my absolutely favourite pattern.</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="http://www.burdafashion.com/images/repos/1/000/001/868/000001868943" width="240" /><img alt="" border="0" height="229" hspace="0" src="http://www.burdafashion.com/images/repos/1/000/001/869/000001869217" width="320" /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
Unfortunately (for me) it's a plus size pattern... you lucky girls! What's so special about it you would say. Well a straight or pencil skirt is just a skirt. You may look good in it or not. Either way it's just a skirt, especially if it's in one colour. What makes the difference is that fabric texture manipulation. I love it on every skirt. Since I can't sew this for my self, I'll keep it for inspiration. I bet the instructions will be helpfull. </div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
In this issue you will also learn how to make this bracelet from a crocheted doily.</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
Hmmm... </div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<img alt="158 0412 B" height="320" src="http://www.burdastyle.de/chameleon/mediapool/thumbs/a/b8/158-0412-B_400x533-ID260256-f61c3b9c7164298f702d892a890cde1b.jpg" width="240" /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;">
See you around</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;">
